Ah, weddings. We all both love them and hate them, but if you are invited to one, being a good guest is an essential thing, especially for the stressed bride and groom. Weddings are not all about showing up and bringing a preset. For the two people getting married, it is a day which they will remember for the rest of their life. Here are some tips on how to be the best wedding guest and make the wedding ceremony a special day for everyone.

RSVP! As soon as you can

A lot of time and energy goes into planning and preparing a wedding. Knowing who is coming to the wedding is very important for the bride and groom when planning the ceremony, so make sure to RSVP as soon as you know whether you will show up. Calling the guests to check if they are coming is a massive waste of time, especially when you are in the middle of chaotic wedding planning. Always RSVP as soon as you can, and make sure to do it on time.

Get the right present

If you are only starting a life with a person you love, you will need a lot of things. That is one of the reasons why weddings exist. A lot of guests will buy the present to improve the couple’s married life, or they will gift them with something sentimental. Sometimes, the bride and the groom have a wish-list of things they need, so always look for something like that. Buying a meaningless gift is not a good idea. Show how much the couple means to you by getting them something they will love. It does not even need to be a gift for both the bride and the groom; it can be a nice gift for the person you care about, especially if your best friend is getting married. For example, buy them a gift like best friend necklaces.

Show up on time

Being late for a wedding ceremony is not the same as being late for the party. ‘fashionably late’ is not a term that applies to weddings, so always be there on time and take your seat. Before the day comes, find the location of the wedding on the map so you will know precisely how to get there. And arrive a bit earlier so you can find a parking spot and your seat before the excitement begins. Making the whole ceremony run late because the guests did not show up on time is annoying to those who put a lot of effort into planning their perfect wedding.

Leave your bad mood at home

If you are in a horrible mood but are still planning to go to the ceremony, leave a bad mood at home. The wedding day is something magical, filled with enthusiasm and happiness, so smile! Another thing to leave at home is your opinion, especially if it is negative. We all have our own ideas for a perfect wedding location, food, wedding dresses, etc. But this is someone else’s taste, so do not tell your opinions on that matter.

Watch your alcohol

Getting drunk is not an idea for the wedding. It can be tough to resist the temptation of another glass with the alcohol on every corner, but try to drink responsibly. Embarrassing yourself, your family, or the couple getting married will not make you very popular among the crowd.

Be the Best Wedding Guest Ever

A wedding is a special day for the bride and groom. They invited you for a reason, so it’s important to honor and respect that! Follow these tips, and you’re sure to be the best wedding guest at the ceremony.
