There are so many different layers to what wellness means, and that includes wellness in both mental and spiritual ways. Health and wellness are all a part of the spiritual experience, because the mind and body go hand in hand when it comes to all of the parts of the spiritual makeup. Whether you’ve just begun to get curious about spirituality or you’ve been in the game for a while, finding your own rhythm with your spiritual practice is one of the most important things you can do for yourself as you progress in your wellness journey. If you’re still wondering about what exactly spiritual wellness entails for you, there are a few pieces of the puzzle that you can look into.

Physical Health

Although physical wellness isn’t the only thing to think about when it comes to your overall health, paying attention to how you feel and what your experience is like in your own body can be an extremely informative experience for your overall spiritual wellness. Whether this means being mindful about the food you put into your body or finding an exercise routine that makes you feel mentally and physically connected, paying a bit more attention to your physical health can put you in the right headspace to open up to the spiritual wellness you’re seeking.

Mental Health

Although many people think that mental health and spiritual health are the same thing, they’re definitely separate, even if they do go hand-in-hand. Having a good relationship with your mental health is an important part of finding spiritual wellness, mostly because in order to open yourself up to a range of spirituality and practices, feeling centered in your own mind and understanding your own emotions can build you the proper foundation. Practices like self-care, self compassion and overall kindness do the work of contributing to your mental health while also being spiritually relevant to your journey.

Spiritual Exploration

One of the primary fixtures of spiritual wellness is the ability to explore your spirituality and understand what it means to you on a deeper level. In order to do this, you need to make a time and space in your life to find a stillness and explore what you really feel and your genuine experiences with spirituality. Whether this means experiencing new religious services, meditating more often or even reading scripture, finding that exploration can give you The openness you crave to continue on your journey.

Mind Body Connection

One big part of spiritual wellness is fostering the mind-body connection that lives in every single person. Even though spiritual wellness is not entirely about the mind or the body, having a harmonious relationship with your entire being is often the basis of spiritual evolution. Whether this means finding activities that link you both to spiritual satisfaction and physical satisfaction such as spending time in nature, or you address the areas of your life that you want to see progress, finding a bit more connection between the mind and the body can set the stage for you to feel spiritually satisfied.

Life Spirituality Connection

One connection that you might not hear about quite as often as the mind-body connection is the connection between spirituality and daily life. For most people, in order to feel spiritually satisfied and spiritually involved, it’s important to connect the aspects of spirituality with the constructs of daily life. When you feel like you are living a life that’s in line not just with your values, but with your beliefs, it will likely be much easier for you to dive deeper into your exploration of those things.

Room to Evolve

One of the most important things that you can remind yourself of in your spiritual life is that there is always room to evolve with your beliefs. In fact, consistent growth is a part of staying on top of your spiritual wellness and not growing stagnant. Therefore, if you find yourself constantly evolving and exploring new things, it’s often a very good sign.

Spiritual Wellness

The point of spiritual wellness is that it’s a personal thing that’s different for everybody. No matter what your experience of spirituality is, it can involve a variety of factors from the body, mind and spirit. Everything is connected, and that’s a part of the beauty of life. Whether your spiritual evolution comes with mental health care, taking better care of your body or simply being a bit more mindful as you live, you can make the space in your life to evolve with your spiritual practices as you see fit.
