Wedding centerpieces have gotten creative in recent years, and there’s no shortage of great ideas for interesting and innovative ways to dress your tables for the wedding of your dreams. If you have a few cupcakes in the wedding already — or you want to include a few — centerpieces are a great way to show off a little sweetness in your wedding decor. Not only are plenty of these ideas budget-friendly, but plenty of these cupcake wedding centerpieces are totally DIY-ready. Here are a few ideas.

Cupcake Cakes

Whether or not you have a traditional wedding cake, having cupcake cakes at every table can actually be a cute and functional idea to serve everyone dessert. You can count out the cupcakes so that everyone has one and plan them strategically!

Cupcake Table

If you’d rather have a more centralized decoration, having a dessert table or a cupcake table specifically can be a great idea. Not only do cupcake table centerpieces leave more room on the tables themselves for food and drinks, but it can also serve as its own function and decoration within your space.

Cupcake Tower

Taking it back to centerpieces on each table, cupcake towers are a classic idea that works for both function and aesthetics. You can pile a bunch of cupcakes onto any kind of stackable cupcake tower, and this can make for an easy, fun and customizable centerpiece.

Personalized Cupcakes

If you happen to have a smaller and more intimate wedding, you can also play around a little bit with the idea of combining dessert and party favors. Specifically, you can decorate cupcakes so that they’re personalized to each of the guests. You can do this with names or even specific motifs for the bridal party.

Cupcake Bouquet

If you’re trying to choose between using a floral arrangement for your centerpieces and using cupcakes, who says you have to pick? Why not combine the two for an adorable cupcake bouquet. Not only is this classy and interesting, but it also leaves part of the centerpiece intact, even after you eat dessert.

Floral Cupcakes

Additionally, you can decorate your cupcakes with floral designs to make them fit in with the cupcake bouquet or stand alone on a cupcake tower or centerpiece of your choosing. Floral designs are classic and fun, and you can customize them to fit your color scheme and floral arrangements you already have in the wedding.

Cupcake Ferris Wheel

If you want to get a little more creative and think outside the box, why not try something fun and quirky like a cupcake Ferris wheel? This can work really well for themed weddings or slightly more casual weddings. All you need to do is find a Ferris wheel display, or even make your own. Then, stack the cupcakes where the chairs would be. This can also be a great idea because they are relatively see-through, so your guests can still talk across the tables.

Cupcake Basket

If you want something with a little bit more of a rustic feel, you can also stack your cupcakes in a basket like you would with fruit. Try out interesting details like ribbons or cloth napkins inside to give it a personal touch and help it match the color and decor throughout the rest of your wedding.

Teacup Cakes

This idea is perfect for daytime weddings and spring weddings. Not only does stashing a cupcake in a teacup register as adorable, but it also can act as a great party favor. Your guests can eat the cupcakes and have a teacup to take home. These can work as centerpieces directly or as placeholders for each seat.

Cupcake Name Places

If you want to go for a complete customizable accessory, you can decorate cupcakes to serve as name places. Although this isn’t technically a centerpiece, it can serve as the primary table decoration regardless of its place on the actual table. Since you already have to make name places anyway, this can be a great way to accomplish multiple tasks with one accessory!

Cupcake Table Numbers

If you don’t feel like using cupcakes as placeholders, you can always use them to communicate table numbers. You can stick something out of the top of a cupcake stack or tower, or you can write the table numbers in frosting on the cupcakes themselves.

Cupcake Wedding Centerpieces

There are so many different options that you can use for cupcakes centerpieces in your wedding. From adorable DIY name places to perfectly stylized cupcake towers, you can do just about anything when you combine dessert and decoration.
