The capital of Tennessee isn’t known as “Music City” for nothing. Lively, star-studded Nashville provides endless entertainment for travelers — whether you’re into nightlife, nature walks or anything in between. Here are 21 fun ways to have a girls’ weekend in Nashville.

1. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

The Country Music Hall of Fame is one of Tennessee’s must-sees. Check out the exhibits and over 2.5 million artifacts housed in this expansive two-story museum, and learn how country music shaped the city.

2. Break Free at Escape Game Nashville

Another fun idea for a Nashville girls’ weekend is to visit an escape room. As a group, look for clues and solve puzzles to find your way out of the room. Escape Game Nashville offers several different themes, including a prison, train, spaceship, submarine, and more.

3. Tour the Grand Ole Opry House

This famous venue puts on a weekly live country music broadcast on the radio, and it serves as a stage for in-person performances. Buy tickets and take a backstage tour.

4. Dine at Aquarium Restaurant

This unique dining venue uses a 200,000-gallon aquarium as its backdrop. Enjoy American food while you feast your eyes on sharks, stingrays, and a wide variety of other fish. The restaurant also offers tours and will let you make reservations for special events.

5. Take to the Skies

Want to get a bird’s eye view of your surroundings? An aerial tour could be a great addition to your girls’ weekend. Nashville offers several helicopter rides so you can see the city from above.

6. Cruise the Riverfront

There are several boat rental services in Nashville that accommodate big groups. Rent a party boat with bar seating, a catering table, and entertainment, then sail through Music City’s Cumberland River in style.

7. Zipline at the Adventure Park

Are you an adrenaline junkie? Get a thrill — and some fresh air — at The Adventure Park at Nashville. This self-guided climbing experience lets you zoom between treetop platforms connected by ziplines, ladders, rope courses, and bridges.

8. Browse the Nashville Farmers’ Market

Foodies will appreciate this lively market, which is open every day from 8 am – 6 pm. Enjoy local foods, fresh produce, chef demonstrations, crafts, and classes in the heart of Nashville.

9. Watch Wildlife at Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

This 188-acre zoo is one of Tennessee’s biggest attractions. With 339 animal species to observe, you’re sure to have a great time watching wildlife and learning about the zoo’s conservation efforts. Look on the website to see if there are any upcoming special events.

10. Stroll Along Honky Tonk Highway

This iconic street is Nashville’s main drag. Bask in the neon lights and live music offered every night on Honky Tonk Highway. And, of course, enjoy a few drinks in the abundant bars along the way.

11. Take a NashTrash Tour

A bright pink bus serves as a comedy club for two sisters who offer tours of the city. They mix raunchy, boisterous jokes with interesting facts about country music legends and famous landmarks. Kick back and enjoy the funniest tour of Music City around.

12. Join a Full Moon Pickin’ Party at Warner Park Nature Center

The Warner Park Nature Center offers numerous programs for people — and dogs — of all ages. On a full moon, attend one of its bluegrass music festivals and eat dinner from a local food truck. In the morning, take a guided tour of the nature center.

13. Sightsee at the Johnny Cash Museum

Country music fans are sure to enjoy this tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash. If you get hungry while touring the museum, stop by the cafe for hot drinks, breakfast, or lunch.

14. Visit the Parthenon

No Nashville girls’ weekend would be complete without a trip to the Parthenon, a 126-year-old replica of the original, eponymous building in Athens. This art museum is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.

15. Stroll Around Cheekwood Estate and Gardens

This gorgeous estate has lush gardens and an art collection. Enjoy the arboretum, tour the mansion, and take in your surroundings at the terraced gardens of Wisteria Arbor. When you get hungry, have lunch at Café 29 in the Frist Learning Center.

16. Go Kayaking

The Cumberland River isn’t exactly known for its whitewater rapids. However, you can still paddle lazily through the city via one of Nashville’s many kayak rental services.

17. Sip Wine at Belle Meade Mansion

Take a historic tour of this enormous estate and winery. Along the way, enjoy bourbon, wine, and food tastings to take you back in time to the mansion’s heyday. It’s southern hospitality at its finest.

18. Attend a Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner

Take a bite out of crime and enjoy a delicious meal while solving a murder. The actors at this dinner party are hidden in the audience, so it’s up to you to determine who’s guilty and who’s just playing along.

19. Dance on the Tractor Party Wagon

It doesn’t get much more Nashville than this. The Nashville tractor offers nonstop dancing and partying for almost two hours as it makes its way through the city. Hop on and get to honky-tonkin’!

20. Hike at Radnor Lake State Park

If you need a break from the festivities, Radnor Lake State Park offers hiking, birdwatching, and good old-fashioned solitude. Sit by Burgess Falls and listen to the gentle roar of the water. Or, join an interpretive program — such as a guided hike — to learn more about the beautiful natural surroundings.
