5. York

York was founded in 1642, making it one of Maine’s oldest towns. It offers many historical sites you can explore while you visit this treasured little town on the coast. Nubble Lighthouse is something you don’t want to miss–watching the sunrise from the beach at this lighthouse should surely make your bucket list.

Sohier Park is located near the Nubble Lighthouse and presents the opportunity for perfect tourism photos with the lighthouse in the background. Long Sands Beach stretches for under two miles and is another excellent tourist attraction. Take in the sights at this lovely beach escape and walk to some cool dining spots while you’re there. Kayaking and surfing are allowed at this beach, a major plus.
